Links to my games, stories, etc.

Here's some links to games I've made, stories I've written, and things like that.  This page will be updated every once and a while with new stuff, so check back every now and then and you might stumble across something new here.

December 27 2014 EDIT: Removed the links to the Fnrrf Ygm Schnish and Fangirl Extermination Squad wikis, since the site that hosted them has unfortunately been dead for a while now.

March 10th 2015 EDIT: Added a new game: Teekee!  Updated the information on several games, and added more spacing.  Also removed an old piece of junk that I will not mention here by name.

December 10th, 2016 EDIT: Added a new not-quite game: an 8-bit graphics set that's free for anyone to use in making their own games!

May 4th, 2016 EDIT: Minor updates here and there, including mentioning the Puckamon update.

November 5th, 2017 EDIT: Added Fnrrf Ygm Schnish: Alleghany Hell School, which recently got its first demo release! Go download it and try it out!

April 1st, 2020 EDIT: Added Bok's Expedition, my entry to the 2020 Ridiculous Games Contest.

August 8th, 2021 EDIT: Pruned some older junk off of the list.  Otherwise, no changes.

GAMES
  • Fnrrf Ygm Schnish: Alleghany Hell School: A game I've been working on since 2008, it's the first in the series of "Fnrrf Ygm Schnish" games to actually get a demo release (following the failed 2003 version, made when I was actually in high school, and the slightly-less-failed 2006 version that got to a playable state but was still super incomplete before I abandoned it.) FYS:AHS is set in a seemingly average (well, okay, more like below-average) high school in middle-of-nowhere Virginia.  It all starts with a power outage, the third one this week, and things just get weirder and weirder from there...
  • Teekee: A short and silly RPG made for the Hans Stinkman 2015 Cash Dollar Contest.  Teekee, as the title suggests, is a game about my fat, goofy, gray-stripey cat Teekee, following his adventures through my mom's house... and outside... and elsewhere.  One branch of the game's story is currently complete and one ending is reachable (plus some "bad endings" if you lose certain fights); I plan on finishing the other branches sometime in the not-too-distant future.
  • Bok's Expedition: Loosely based on a story I wrote back in 1997-1998, and entered in the 2020 OHRRPGCE Ridiculous Games Contest -- which involved making games based on the restrictions of the 1998 versions of the OHRRPGCE, such as only using four maps and not using any features added to the engine later on (like sound effects, poison/stun, scripting, etc.)  Bok's Expedition tells the story of the Blurby explorer and map-maker Bok as he and his crew (including warrior Norgu, scientist Ondu, and healer Crikki) travel to the distant, unexplored planet Ihctogo.  Of course, this ends up being a bit more than just a routine exploration mission...
  • ¡Okédoké! La Leyenda Mexicana: A silly RPG featuring illegal Mexican immigrants, Okédoké was the first decent game that I actually released a demo version of (way back in 2009, as part of the 8-Bit Contest.)  It's come a long way since then -- a few years back it was finally finished and the 100% complete version was uploaded in September 2014, following months of playtesting, bug-fixing, and adding of new stuff.  Most recently, it won 3rd place in the 2014 Heart of the OHR contest--and apparently it was this close to coming in first!  As this game is complete, the only updates likely to appear in the near future are bugfixes and minor feature additions, though I do have an idea for a "SNES remake" edition which will abandon the 8-bit NES-style color palette and use 16-color sprites and a full OHR palette instead.
  • Puckamon: The OHRRPGCE Pokémon tribute/parody game, featuring monsters borrowed from other people's games, Game Boy-esque green 8-bit graphics, and all sorts of other ridiculousness.  It was released as part of the Ridiculous Games Contest in 2010 and finally got an updated demo release just in time for Christmas of 2016, extending the game to the 6th gym.  I will be continuing work on this game when the OHRRPGCE's party size limits are expanded, which will allow me to include more than 55 obtainable monsters in the game and prevent possible glitches resulting from people catching too many Puckamon and filling up their reserves.
  • Fat Frog: The Movie (Part 1): This is a roughly 10-minute-long movie made using the OHRRPGCE engine.  It's about a super-powered frog and racist mice.  This was not only entered in the 2011 OHR Film Festival contest, it won!  For a long time I planned on making a "Part 2" and "Part 3" of this movie at some point, but so far no work has been done on any continuation, and I'm unsure I'll ever come back to this project.
GAME-MAKING RESOURCES
  • 8-Bit OHRRPGCE Graphics Set:  As the name suggests, it's a set of 8-bit (NES-style) graphics for use in making games with the OHRRPGCE.  These have been made available for anyone to use freely -- you can even edit them to make your own additional tiles, sprites, and so on if there's something you need that isn't present in the base set, or even just if you want to slightly alter some of the designs. Just make sure give me credit for the original graphics.
