Yep... here's the third and final post on Robertman, finally. The last of the select-screen levels/bosses and then the Dr. Wily levels, or their (slightly) modified equivalents.
Here's the last of the bosses -- Uposo! Or rather, it would be Uposo if I had ever managed to actually edit the graphics... though that would be a little trickier than most of the others considering that Uposo is much less humanoid than everyone else.
Uposo actually goes back a bit further than any of the other bosses in this game -- I originally made him up in 2nd grade, though he went by the name "Upso" back then and resembled a giant evil up arrow. He also had a stronger form, "Upso-Andy," resulting from him absorbing a kid named Andy. I can only assume this Andy was based on a real person (like almost everyone who had a "real-life human" name back then), but I can't remember who the heck he might have been, as I don't remember actually meeting an Andy until years after that point. Anyway... a little later on, in 4th grade, his design changed slightly so that he resembled an up arrow a bit less. And then, in the year 2000, I put him in The Kirby Lands, which led to him making an appearance here as well.
His stage is the Dark World, also from The Kirby Lands, which is... dark. Well, black and brown and dark tealish colors are "dark" enough, right?
Also, I have pretty much a full lineup of weapons now. Just missing Uposo's weapon, which I went on to use basically never in the remaining portion of the game. Does anyone ever actually use Quick Man's weapon much in this game? I don't think it's even any of the other bosses' weakness or anything. Quick Man: hardest level, hardest boss (maybe? I dunno), but the crappiest weapon. D'oh.
The Dark World gets a little bit darker at some points.
And sometimes it's lit by giant torch robot things.
Also, there's the horrible instant-death lasers here. I managed to get surprisingly far without Banan-Freez on my first attempt, but couldn't quite make it all the way through.
So... yeah, dancing banana time. It's not really that useful against Uposo anyway.
Speaking of Uposo... yeah, he took a couple tries.
I don't remember what weapon I actually beat him with, but here's a screenshot of him almost dead with a fully-charged Kirby Dance flying across the screen, so let's go with that.
GET EQUIPPED WITH USELESS BOOMERANG. Also, pink.
Here's... yeah, completely unedited Dr. Wily. Guess I never quite got to that point of the editing process.
And here's the big ol' castle map at the end.
In Soviet Russia (or something similar)... apparently robo-birds drop the exact same roach-infested burgers that you can find at McDonald's. Hmm...
Bugar Climber or Bugar Lift are pretty much required here.
...again, Bugar Lift is pretty much required. Also, I don't know what that random little bubble-looking thing in the middle is.
This boss, which is so big that it eats up 99% of the screen's sprite space on its own and causes horrendous flickering. Robert, the dragon's lower jaw, and a chunk of the Kirby Dance blast are all vanished in this screenshot....
Oh, here's what a half-charged Kirby dance looks like, by the way. Don't think I managed to get one of those in earlier.
And now on to this level...
...which has seizure-inducing white flashes very, very often. Like, way too often. Yeesh.
And here's Forgettable Boss #1! I remembered that there was something with a square arena around it, but couldn't remember the boss itself, and kept expecting something bigger to form eventually for some reason.
This must be a sewer or something. Everything's green and slimy and generally gross.
Also, humongous robot fish.
And here's Forgettable Boss #2! I completely forgot this guy even existed before I stumbled across him. I guess it's supposed to be like a big tank version of Guts Man from the first Megaman game or something, but he just never left much of an impression on my memory apparently because I had no idea what boss was at the end of the level until I got there, not even a vague memory like with the previous one.
E-tanks look really odd when you're using Crunch Drill with its teal/black color scheme.
And here's a much easier boss to remember... probably because it's so weird, and also so freaking annoying. Used a Stupidi Bomb earlier in the level so your supply isn't at maximum? Whoops, you can't win this one. Accidentally aimed a Stupidi Bomb just a tiny bit off center and didn't hit the wall or robot security system thing you were aiming for? Whoops, you can't win. And so on. You need 100% of your Stupidi Bomb supply just to barely scrape by this boss... waste one shot and you lose. Yeah...
Finally, this one's done for. After several tries...
And now, on to the "teleporters that take you to rematches of all the bosses" room!
Kirb Man is up first...
And I actually got a screenshot of his "charge across the room as a bunch of Kirby-face fireballs" attack this time! Shortly before I killed him again with Rolling Num.
Chef Eato, causing some sprite flicker by throwing half the silverware drawer at you.
And... he's weak against Gomamon Goo, apparently.
Numnum Man is pretty uneventful as usual, especially with a plain square room like this one.
I actually used the Banan-Freeze on Uposo this time around. It only drains about half his life meter from a full charge of it, so... a lot less useful than any of the other boss weaknesses.
Cruncho, shown here about a second from being randomly one-hit-killed by his own weapon.
And here's Dr. Dragonite... or should be, anyway, if I had ever edited all those "W" logos (and the guy himself) at all. I'm not entirely sure what I would've made him look like if I had edited his graphics, though -- like the Pokémon of the same name, or like an obnoxious teenager, or what? I vaguely remember starting on a Robertman comic once where he looked like a bucktoothed Dragonite with squinty eyes and glasses, so maybe that'd be a good guess.
And here's that weird cave with the vague dripping red stuff (which hurts a lot for some reason.)
And at the end... Dr. Wily changes into an alien, just like in the original game.
I guess this would be a good place to have "obnoxious teenager" Dr. Dragonite change into the "bucktoothed Dragonite with glasses" version. Though it would turn out to be fake in this case...
...as you find out after throwing enough Rolling Nums at the thing...
...it was just a hologram. Also, sprite flicker strikes again!
Ending sequence is exactly the same, all the way down to Megaman himself.
This part has edited names, though... just the bosses' names, though.
Ummm... I'm not sure what the heck happened here. I assume I was trying to put "Dark Blubber" and then "Fnrrf Ygm Schnish," but the Schnish got lost somewhere and I have no idea what "2M03CM Man" is supposed to mean.
Also, I can't remember if "Fish Man" was in the original credits or if I spoofed it in there, but either way it's kinda funny.
And... that's the end. Very last text of the game: "Thank you for playing... presented by Crapcom BS." Yep.
