And here's some more, covering all that's left of the city of Big (plus desert area next to it)... well, for now, anyway. There's still one more area in Big that you won't see until a bit later.
...but before that, here's another random enemy from the desert I didn't show before. The Ghetto Goat's upgraded relative, the Ghettoriffic Goat! They show up whenever you beat up a Drunken Wolf and the wolf calls for help.
Just like "GHETTOOOO-RIFFIC!" for when you open up coffins to find items, these fancy boxes in the monkey cave come with a "HOOOOLY CRAAAP!" message... even when the item is a bit unimpressive. XD
And at the end of the monkey cave... there's "Eatda Spamah," who in some places in the game is still referred to by his original name for some odd reason. Whoops.
And there's his weird, cheese-oriented speech that he gives you. And then immediately afterward, a ninja monkey teaches you how to teleport to different places.
Shown here immediately after learning how to teleport.
"Kyak!" translating to "Canoe!" still kinda cracks me up even after all these years. And I'd completely forgotten it, too, so it came out of nowhere and I'm pretty sure I actually laughed a bit out loud while playing this. XD
Quickly teleporting to Canada to stock up on new equipment. Such as... amputated T-rex tails, apparently. Wasn't aware they had those up there... XD
More advice from the Wizdum Man. It sounds dirty, but in the game you have to show her an actual yogurt dispenser.
Zexion's in the news here.
And the minor boss at the end of the Monotoli Building, the Clumsy Robot, which seems to be pretty much unchanged from the original version. Here Spooj is using the item "Gomamon Goo," which transforms you into a goo-monster for one turn (and does a ton of damage to whatever critter you attack.) And then the PP Gang shows up and... flips the off switch on the back of the robot.
And here's Monotoli, who for some reason never got a spoof even though the vast majority of other characters with names in the game did. What he's saying, of course, did get spoofed up a bit.
The Skywalker-flying-to-Canada scene from Goomba starts off a little glitchy (it randomly appears in the trees somewhere, rather than lifting off from the place it crashed before), but it arrives in Canada as normal. I still have no idea how some of the travel scenes got glitched-up like this.
And here's Dr. McDonuts (whose name was changed randomly, but otherwise is still pretty much the same) talking about the random caveman who sells you items.
A few new (recolored) enemies in the cave leading up to the 4th "Fugged Spot" boss, which Spooj passed through on his own before. Alligutos go way back, being a creature I made up all the way back in 2nd grade. Normally, they're associated with the Alligator Teacher (she keeps them as pets.) Basically they're giant alien alligators that can burrow through land as though swimming. Brain Sausages made their first appearance in this hack, but are a reference to how I thought the disgusting gray sausage lumps on cafeteria food sausage pizzas looked like brains. They're basically Li'l Sausages with minor psychic powers, attacking with Funky Beam and also generating shields to protect themselves. They reappear in Fnrrf Ygm Schnish: Alleghany Hell School just like their brown, non-psychic cousins.
And here's the boss: the Leet Neenjah (or l33t n33nj4h, to use the original l33t name of the guy.) While Mr. Sausage may have been a bit too hard for the point in the game he appears originally, it seems like I must have fixed his difficulty level somewhat... this guy on the other hand... not so much. I tried multiple times to beat him just now and wasn't able to do so no matter what I tried. I think I may have toned down his ninja-star attack somewhat (making it only hit one character rather than all three) but that wasn't quite enough, it seems.
Status effects all over the place. A common sight in this battle. The "secret uber leet ninja magic" does damage and also has a chance of Yu-Gi-Ohfying whoever it hits...
...while the ninja stars do damage and poison. He also uses Funky Beam Beta, which can make you cry uncontrollably, become confused or paralyzed, or even knock you out instantly. Wearing a Ninja Suit, appropriately enough, protects against Funky Beam's effects but there's not much you can do against the others, aside from using shields to cut the damage and/or reflect some back on him.
After failing to beat the Leet Neenjah who-knows-how-many times, I wandered around in his cave a bit and squished some bean beetles.
Also went outside to find that new (and abnormally strong) random monsters have infested Canada.
Poked around under Stonehenge but couldn't go any further than this butt statue...
...so I went back to Bushy Village and picked up the Mailbox O' Doom, which is Bridget's best weapon if I'm remembering right. The description is based loosely on the fact that I once kicked my dad's mailbox after a particularly crappy day of high school, leaving a dent which he mistook for the result of someone backing their car into it by accident. XD
Unfortunately, even with the Mailbox O' Doom (and a few level-ups, and repeated attempts...) I wasn't able to beat the Leet Neenjah... and it turns out that he's one of the Fugged Spot bosses that the game won't let you skip, preventing you from going further until you beat him. Ugh. Yeah, not especially happy with the game right now. Oh, and it gets worse: if you happen to get knocked out after making the trip across the lake in Canada, you come back... right there on the other side of the lake... in the middle of a monster-infested area that a single character with no PP has little to no chance of getting through. I don't feel like wasting my healing items reviving the others, and making repeated attempts to get through the cave alone is pretty miserable. Yeah, if I ever re-did this game (or something similar) I would definitely need to make sure to avoid making this area as much of a pain in the ass as it is in this version... >_<
